Wetherby would like to say congratulations to Westdale Services Ltd who have won ‘Insulation Installer of the Year’. This is now the second year Wetherby have sponsored this category.

The awards set out to provide public recognition for the positive work in the Energy Efficiency sector. For the Insulation Installer of the Year category, the judges looked at what sets them apart within their field, demonstrating clear energy savings achieved. They also took into consideration the impact they have on the local community.

This award is a great achievement for Westdale Services!


Wetherby Scoops Supplier of Year Award

Wetherby Building Systems is celebrating after winning the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award at this year’s National Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Awards.

Beating tough competition from household names such as Baxi, Vallient and Daikin, Wetherby demonstrated its commitment to delivering energy efficiency schemes, big and small, across the UK to come out on top. The judges were also impressed with the company’s approach to reducing its own carbon footprint, as well as the successful implementation of community engagement programmes and training initiatives.

WETHERBY GIVES WARM WELCOME TO NEW TIGERS

Always looking to support our installation partners, we are delighted to have joined forces with PRS Group to help deliver a new tiger enclosure at Dartmoor Zoo in Plymouth.

With two new tigers, Alisha and Dragan, arriving from Berlin to join a special breeding programme at Dartmoor Zoo, they needed a new enclosure that would help them feel safe and secure. PRS Group agreed to donate time, resource and materials to build a new covered shelter for the tigers, while we donated render materials to ensure the building benefitted from a professional finish.

Labour MP Steve McCabe calls on government to publish the Bonfield Review – originally due in April – as soon as possible

The government is coming under renewed pressure to publish its review into domestic energy efficiency and renewable energy standards, which was launched last year in response to the controversial shake-up of green building policies.

Chaired by Peter Bonfield, chief executive of the BRE Group, the Bonfield Review was due to be published in April, but was delayed by local elections and the EU referendum campaign

The UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC) has warned London developers to be aware of changes to zero carbon requirements when putting forward planning applications and highlighting the importance to go above and beyond with energy efficiency measures to make homes genuinely ‘Zero Carbon’.

Developers risk having residential schemes rejected by London planners because they are unaware of a zero carbon requirement which comes into force at the end of the summer.

Richard Twinn, policy advisor at the UK Green Building Council, warned many developers are still in the dark.

Wetherby support NHS Give Blood Campaign

You may have noticed there are some missing letters from our logo, along with multiple famous landmarks and companies all over the world dropping the letters A, B and O.

These are, of course, the letters that represent blood groups. This is all in support of the NHS Blood and Transplant #Missing Type campaign to highlight the global importance of blood donation.

The campaign aims to:

The National Energy Efficiency & Retrofit Awards were launched in July 2015 following the changes in the Government Energy Efficiency Policy. EWI Contributes to Nottingham’s Early Climate Change Achievements

According to Government Data, Nottingham has surpassed its climate change targets four years early in a fight to reduce the cities carbon emissions.

Nottingham has achieved a 33% reduction in the city’s carbon emissions since 2005 due to energy saving measures such as external wall insulation.

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd are pleased to have contributed to the reduction by supplying multiple large schemes with External Wall Insulation systems, providing significant energy efficiency improvements to private and social properties.
