Ready, steady … BAKE!

Catching up over a cuppa and a slice of cake, employees of Wetherby Building Systems have today taken part in a Northern bake-off, with two individual coffee mornings being hosted at Golborne and Haydock, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

From a small scale idea in 1990, Britain’s Biggest Coffee Morning has gradually turned into the UK’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer, with £25 million being raised in 2014 alone.

NIA supports members with new SWI Priorities

Committed to helping drive awareness and growth of the solid wall insulation (SWI) industry, Wetherby’s managing director, Bob Deane, has been appointed as part of a new SWI council orchestrated by the National Insulation Association (NIA).

At its first meeting this week, the council agreed that it would make the following actions priorities to support its members: • Enhance industry quality and standards, while positioning NIA members as the preferred and trusted choice among specifiers and householders • Positively influence policies, regulations and lobbying to maximise the uptake of SWI, including government and key stakeholders such as Housing Associations, Local

Brick Price Hike Sees Sales Soar!

Following further brick price increases, we have seen sales of our brick slip solutions for new build projects increase by 20% in the first six months of 2015, as specifiers, contractors and end clients look for more cost effective solutions.

It has been widely reported that the price of brick increased by 9% in the first six months of the year, following a hike of 13.5% in 2014. These spiralling costs are leaving house builders with no alternative but to look at more cost effective building materials and, as a result, we have seen our EpsiBrick-7 brick slip system
