We have recently invested in our tinting facility at our Head Office premises in Golborne which will not only reduce trade counter lead times with the introduction of faster dispense speeds but will also reduce the impact on the environment with new energy saving features.

The 2 new HA480’s have recently arrived and been installed at Golborne depot and will benefit from no pigment agitation or pigment waste meaning the machines energy usage and carbon footprint will be reduced from 20 watts to an impressive 1.8 watts.

Long-awaited Home Energy Efficiency Review

The long-awaited ‘Bonfield Review’ was released over the weekend which sets out 27 recommendations to boost uptake of home energy efficiency and renewable energy measures.

Domestic energy efficiency measures could soon be sporting a government-backed quality mark if the recommendations of a long-awaited sector review are adopted.

UK Ratifies Paris Climate Change Deal

Today there has been some positive news for the UK and Energy Efficiency industry as the United Kingdom has signed the world’s first comprehensive climate change treaty to limit global temperature rises.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson this afternoon signed the official ratification documents, which will now be filed with the UN’s climate change secretariat. Making the UK the 111th country to officially sign up to the historic climate change treaty.

Speaking from the COP22 Climate Summit in Marrakesh, Climate Change and Industry Minister Nick Hurd  said ratification of the agreement would give a further boost to a UK low

Wetherby Support Energy Saving Week

The Energy Saving Trust this week announced Energy Saving Week. It is a national campaign to help people cut their fuel bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to.

The week focuses on raising public awareness of how to make homes energy efficient. This is the sixth Big Energy Saving Week and is a partnership between Citizens Advice, the Energy Saving Trust and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy with the support of numerous organisations, charities and companies.

EWI Contributes to Nottingham’s Early Climate Change Achievements

According to Government Data, Nottingham has surpassed its climate change targets four years early in a fight to reduce the cities carbon emissions.

Nottingham has achieved a 33% reduction in the city’s carbon emissions since 2005 due to energy saving measures such as external wall insulation.

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd are pleased to have contributed to the reduction by supplying multiple large schemes with External Wall Insulation systems, providing significant energy efficiency improvements to private and social properties.

Government Sets Ambitious Carbon Emissions Reduction Target

DECC has this morning announced that the Government is accepting the recommendation of the Committee on Climate Change and setting a target to reduce carbon emissions.

Amber Rudd accepted the advice of the government’s statutory climate advisers, setting a target on Thursday of reducing carbon emissions 57% by 2030 on 1990 levels.
