Wetherby project ahead of schedule

A project to create 23 new homes on a disused vinery site sporting a Wetherby Building Systems is ahead of schedule.

The Guernsey Housing Association project has seen R.G.Falla working near the king Edward VII Hospital.

The timber framed properties are being installed with a Wetherby insulated render system, directly fixed with EpsiTherm insulation and silicone render.

GHA chief executive Steve Williams said he was pleased with the progress on the houses and flats, commenting;

‘Construction has gone very well with many houses externally complete ahead of schedule.’

Wetherby, the Safe Choice for Nursery Children

The construction of a new nursery in Exeter has utilised external wall insulation (EWI) from Wetherby Building Systems to meet thermal performance requirements and create visual stand out within the local area.

The development of Matford Green Nursery saw the former Divers Motor Company building transformed into a new two storey state-of-the-art 120 place nursery. A robust external wall insulation system was required and specialist EWI installer PRS Group was tasked with providing an effective solution.

Wetherby Congratulate ‘Installation Installer’ Winner

Wetherby would like to say congratulations to Westdale Services Ltd who have won ‘Insulation Installer of the Year’. This is now the second year Wetherby have sponsored this category.

The awards set out to provide public recognition for the positive work in the Energy Efficiency sector. For the Insulation Installer of the Year category, the judges looked at what sets them apart within their field, demonstrating clear energy savings achieved. They also took into consideration the impact they have on the local community.

This award is a great achievement for Westdale Services!


Wetherby Scoops Supplier of Year Award

Wetherby Building Systems is celebrating after winning the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award at this year’s National Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Awards.

Beating tough competition from household names such as Baxi, Vallient and Daikin, Wetherby demonstrated its commitment to delivering energy efficiency schemes, big and small, across the UK to come out on top. The judges were also impressed with the company’s approach to reducing its own carbon footprint, as well as the successful implementation of community engagement programmes and training initiatives.

DECC Pays Visit to Wetherby Project

Representatives from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), along with local MPs, local councils and energy companies have visited a site in Gosport, Hampshire to find out how ECO and Green Deal Communities funding has benefitted the local communities.

The £145m Rowner Renewal Project is a major regeneration scheme to replace and refurbish substandard housing with more than 600 new energy efficient homes, as well as constructing retail and commercial units to improve the community of Rowner in Hampshire.

Unique System Thickness for Aylesbury Vale Academy

The Aylesbury Vale scheme, is a £23m project funded by Buckinghamshire County Council, designed to improve the energy efficiency of the Aylesbury Vale Academy, a Church of England academy.

Wetherby was selected as a preferred partner following a tender process and granted the contract. This was a unique scheme as the EWI installed was 270mm thick, 210mm wider than the 60mm usually specified. The project aimed to create a passive building, with high levels of insulation and exceptional air tightness, using passive solar gains through windows, walls and floors. The school building stores and distributes solar energy in winter and is cool in the summer.
